Media Coverage of Columbia University’s Protests

Journalists tasked with covering violent unrest on college campuses across the U.S. have been arrested and barred access as police moved in to crack down on pro-Palestinian protesters who have set up encampments and barricaded themselves inside buildings. (CNN)

As the New York Police Department raided Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall Tuesday night to arrest pro-Palestinian protesters camped inside, there was one outlet that many onlookers turned to for live updates: WKCR. (NBC News)

The sign said, “Welcome to the People’s University of Palestine.” But for dozens of journalists looking for protesting students to interview at Columbia, there would be no entry into the encampment. (WaPo)
