Hulu Gets Disney-fied User Interface Upgrade

Hulu’s user interface is getting a facelift—one that will make the platform look a lot more like the other offerings in Disney’s streaming portfolio. (Adweek)

The majority-Disney-owned streaming app launched an overhaul of its user interface on Wednesday. It’ll roll out to some Roku and Apple TV users right away, with everyone else getting the update in the coming months. (Mashable)

A key change in the new Hulu UI is that viewers can now navigate through collections vertically and explore within a collection by moving horizontally. That’s the navigation paradigm used by basically every other streaming service, including corporate siblings Disney Plus and ESPN Plus. (Variety)
