House Democrats Announce Public Impeachment Hearings Next Week

House Democrats will launch a major new phase of their impeachment inquiry next week with public hearings that will feature three State Department officials who have testified about their concerns about President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine. (HuffPost / AP)

House Intelligence chairman Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, said that U.S. diplomat Bill Taylor and State Department official George Kent will appear on next Wednesday, and former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is testifying next Friday. (CNN)

All three have already testified behind closed doors. The hearings would be a likely prelude to articles of impeachment—formal charges—against Trump being brought to a vote in the House. (Reuters)
