HBO Documentary on Robert Durst Selectively Edited Audio for His Infamous Confession

By Christine Zosche

On the last of six episodes, the producers of HBO’s The Jinx: The Life And Deaths Of Robert Durst presented Durst, the peculiar real estate scion long suspected in several murders, muttering to himself, perhaps confessing, as he marched off to the bathroom, still wearing his microphone from the interview. But it turns out Durst’s remarks were significantly edited. (NYT)

“What the hell did I do?… Killed them all, of course,” Durst can be heard saying in the award-winning documentary. However, Durst never said those two sentences consecutively. Durst’s full scattered quote includes several “unintelligible” and “inaudible” remarks. (Mediaite)
