Harvey Weinstein’s Name Will Be Removed from All TV Shows He Produced

After firing co-founder Harvey Weinstein Sunday night following allegations of decades of sexual harassment, The Weinstein Company is in the process of removing his name from all of the TV shows he produced alongside his now-former company. (Adweek)

Apple has pulled the plug on an Elvis Presley biopic series from TWC in light of the controversy. TWC COO David Glasser is reportedly re-engaging another network that had bid on the series when it first was taken out. (Deadline)

As the board of TWC moved to fire Weinstein as its co-chairman over the weekend, he sent a private email to a number of high-level Hollywood executives at studios, networks and talent agencies, begging for their aid in helping him save his job. “I am desperate for your help,” Weinstein said as he asked others in the industry for a letter that he could present to the TWC board, “stating your opposition to the board firing me.” (THR)

Morning Joe co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough were none too pleased Monday morning not only with Weinstein but also with the reactions (or lack thereof) of Hollywood stars and prominent Democrats to the news. Brzezinski was even more disappointed in Democrats, particularly Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama, both of whom had received significant donations from the producer in the past. Weinstein is a well-known donor to the Democratic Party. (TVNewser)

Despite Weinstein’s termination from the company, Brzezinski is still planning to nix a three-book deal she has with Weinstein Books (through Hachette Book Group). (THR)
