Harvey Weinstein Must Face Sex Trafficking Lawsuit from Aspiring Actress

By Christine Zosche

A federal judge in New York has given Kadian Noble the green light to pursue a sex trafficking claim against Harvey Weinstein. However, the judge has dismissed Bob Weinstein from the lawsuit because she failed to sufficiently allege his participation. (THR / THR, Esq.)

In her original complaint, Noble stated Harvey Weinstein assaulted her in February 2014 in Cannes. The alleged attack came after a first meeting with the now disgraced producer where Noble claimed he promised her a role in an upcoming TWC film. (Deadline)

Noble alleges Harvey Weinstein lured her to his room at the Le Majestic Hotel on the pretext of an audition, and then groped her and forced her to help him masturbate. Her attorneys alleged the incident was tantamount to forced prostitution. In his ruling, Judge Robert W. Sweet declined to dismiss the suit, finding that while Noble’s claims venture into “uncharted waters” for the statute, they are not implausible. (Variety)
