Former CBS Chief Les Moonves Forfeits Majority of 2018 Earnings

Leslie Moonves, the former CEO of CBS, earned $47.1 million in 2018 but also forfeited $34.5 million in stock awards, bringing his compensation to just $12.6 million for the year, according to a regulatory filing Friday. (THR)

That’s a paltry sum compared with the $69 million he earned in 2017 and 2016. (New York Post)

The longtime CBS leader was forced to resign after revelations of past sexual misconduct allegations were detailed in two exposes were published in July and September by Ronan Farrow in the New Yorker. (Variety)

Moonves and CBS corporate filed legal briefs Friday in connection with a shareholder lawsuit that accuses CBS, its board and Moonves of failing to disclose information that would affect business operations and stock prices. The Moonves comments are believed to be his first public statements since being ousted from his job. (Deadline)
