Disney, Charter Ink Multiyear Cable TV, Streaming Carriage Deal

Charter Communications and The Walt Disney Company on Wednesday unveiled a multiyear distribution agreement to continue delivering Disney’s TV and ESPN lineup to Spectrum subscribers. (THR)

Charter has agreed to carry the ACC Network, a new network in the ESPN family, as part of the deal, according to a joint statement from the companies. (CNBC)

Charter’s Spectrum TV cable systems also will offer the ACC Network when it launches on Aug. 22 as another season of increasingly high-rated college football games gets under way. (Deadline)

The companies said the deal “contemplates Charter’s future distribution” of Disney Plus and ESPN Plus. The agreement sets a blueprint for Disney to provide incentives to Charter to market Disney Plus and ESPN Plus as stand-alone broadband offerings. (Variety)
