CBS Formatting James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke for International Buyers

By Christine Zosche

Carpool Karaoke is poised to become an international sensation. Ahead of the L.A. Screenings, CBS Studios International and The Late Late Show producer Fulwell 73 are making James Corden’s viral singing segment available as a format to international networks. (THR / Live Feed)

For the international market, each 30-minute or 60-minute episode would see the show’s host pick up a different singer or celebrity and drive them in a Carpool Karaoke car, specially fitted with state of the art cameras. (Deadline)

A deal for a domestic version of the show is said to be close. Late Late Show executive producer Ben Winston and Corden began shopping the series as a half hour version back in March, hitting the major cablers and SVOD players. Corden and Winston would serve as exec producers, though Corden would not host. (Variety)
