CBS Evening News Ratings Plummet on Norah O’Donnell’s Debut

Norah O’Donnell’s debut as the new CBS Evening News anchor came in last place among evening shows on Monday despite a much-publicized premiere that included a sit-down with Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world. (New York Post)

The broadcast attracted 929,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demo, according to Nielsen. That was down 24 percent from a year ago and 22 percent compared with the 2019 year-to-date average. (Deadline)

ABC’s World News Tonight With David Muir topped total viewers of the networks with 7.93 million and 1.5 million in the demo. NBC’s Nightly News With Lester Holt came second in total, with 7.07 million viewers, but won the demo out of the three, with 1.56 million. O’Donnell’s broadcast averaged 5,608,000 total viewers.
