Bustle Digital Group to Acquire W Magazine Under Joint Venture

Bustle Digital Group and a team of investors led by supermodel Karlie Kloss have a unique plan for W magazine. (Adweek)

Now to be known as W Media, its new operating partner will be Bustle Digital Group along with the group of investors, which also includes the movie and television producer Jason Blum, the racecar driver Lewis Hamilton and the model Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s daughter, who is just 18. (NYT)

The publication was formerly owned by Condé Nast before being sold to Future Media in June 2019. The new deal will allow the publication to return to its regular publishing schedule of six print issues a year starting in 2021. (Nylon)

The new company, citing the Covid-19 pandemic, said W is planning “one aggregate print issue for the remainder of 2020,” which will be its annual “New Originals” issue in the fall. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. (Variety)
