Brian Steel Leaving CNBC

By Christine Zosche

Brian Steel, who has been CNBC’s vp of PR for the last eight years, is leaving the network. In a note to staff, CNBC president Mark Hoffman says Steel “is leaving to take on a challenging new position that will be announced in the coming days.” TVNewser hears it is outside the media realm. Steel joined CNBC in 2007 from Citigroup. Before that he held multiple positions with the U.S Department of Justice. Steel’s last day at CNBC is Friday, Sept. 11. (TVNewser)
