Brent Musburger Retiring from Sportscasting

Brent Musburger is calling it a career at ESPN after being the play-by-play man in the booth at sporting events enjoyed by millions of Americans, most prominently when he was the lead voice for CBS Sports in the 1980s. (THR / AP)

ESPN said Wednesday that he is retiring and the Georgia-Kentucky college basketball game on Jan. 31 will be his last. (Deadline)

Musburger has been in the sportscasting world for nearly 50 years, 27 of which he spent at ESPN. He has called just about every kind of sporting event you can think of: college basketball, college football, pro football, the Masters, little league baseball and the World Cup. (Variety)
