Boss Baby Sequel to Debut on Peacock, in Movie Theaters the Same Day

Animated sequel The Boss Baby: Family Business will arrive simultaneously on Peacock streaming and in movie theaters on July 2, making this the first time that the NBCUniversal streaming service will participate in a day-and-date release. (Adweek)

It was previously set to hit the big screen on Sept. 17, followed by a debut on premium VOD sometime in October. (THR)

NBCUniversal is trying to drive more customers to Peacock, which faces a crowded field of deep-pocketed streaming rivals. The service has about 42 million customers, compared with more than 100 million at Disney+ and 200 million at Netflix Inc. (Bloomberg)

The Boss Baby: Family Business will play on the two uppermost premium tiers of Peacock, which cost subscribers $4.99 and $9.99 a month; the uppermost tier has zero commercials. (Deadline)
