AT&T’s DirecTV Now Loses 267,000 Subscribers in Fourth Quarter

Telecom giant AT&T, led by chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson, on Wednesday reported improved fourth-quarter financials for its WarnerMedia unit, led by Warner Bros., and said it lost 267,000 subscribers at its DirecTV Now streaming service in the period. (THR)

WarnerMedia total revenue was $9.2 billion, up 5.9 percent year over year, thanks to a box-office bump at Warner Bros., which boosted sales 10.4 percent to $4.5 billion. (Variety)

Wednesday, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson addressed the streaming strategy at WarnerMedia, saying its forthcoming service will use a “two-sided model” blending subscription and ad-supported elements. (Deadline)
