New York Festivals, which is apparently in its 53rd year of picking the “World’s Best Work,” is celebrating its International Advertising Awards held for some reason in Shanghai over the weekend which honored Y&R as Agency Network of the Year, Jung von Matt as Agency of the Year and Procter & Gamble as Advertiser of the Year.

312 senior creative directors from 56 countries (that’s a hell of a jury) handed Y&R specifically a total of nine Gold World Medals, 13 Silver medals, a UNDPI Silver Award, 15 Bronze medals, 53 Finalist Certificates and a UNDPI Finalist Award from all of the agency’s worldwide offices.

Y&R’s global CCO Tony Granger gave the obvious “we’re thrilled” comment and added that his agency has been “bolstering our creative firepower around the world, and we are seeing our work get stronger and more impressive across our global network.”

Lifetime Achievement honors meanwhile went to Dentsu’s executive officer/global ECD Akira Kagami as well as The Jupiter Drawing Room (South Africa) & Partners founder/ CCO Graham Warsop. Check out more info on the event here.
