Los Angeles entertainment advertising agency Wild Card hired Evan DeHaven as executive creative director for its innovation group, 3AM.

DeHaven will be tasked with overseeing the creative function and vision for 3AM, growing the business and building a team environment delivering on the agency’s vision of the future of entertainment marketing. He will partner with executive creative director Chris Eyerman and report directly to Wild Card CEO Alison Temple.

“As we strive to be as innovative as possible in how we tell stories for films, TV, games and brands, Evan’s diverse experience is critical. We will look to Evan in his new role to help us continue to deliver experiences our clients and their audiences are seeking,” Temple said.

DeHaven previously spent two years managing internal production as creative director for 72andSunny’s internal production unit Hecho en 72, working with brands including Google, Activision, Coors, Starbucks, Instagram, Infiniti, Adidas, Syfy, YouTube, Carls Jr. and the city of Los Angeles. Prior to that, he served as a global brand director for Nike’s customization efforts and NIKEiD. Before that, he worked with agencies such as W+K, TBWA\Chiat\Day, JWT, CP+B and Ogilvy. In the early 2000s, DeHaven co-founded the agency Evoke with his wife Christine, which later merged with Ignition Creative.

“I am excited to work with the 3AM team on our existing and new clients in film, streaming and gaming,” DeHaven said. “With both the addition of myself and CMO Tara DeVeaux we look forward to broadening our client base into new spaces working with brands and developing original IP.”

“For me stepping away from entertainment advertising at Ignition to the brand side of the advertising business both at 72andSunny and Nike has provided me with new insights and experiences that I believe add to my already eclectic career,” he added. “It is this complete view of the industry that will help us deliver unique creative solutions that solve our clients’ business challenges.”

Wild Card’s most visible recent work was the teaser for Season 3 of The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu, which ran during the Super Bowl.
