Guess the thrill of a big account win like Mitsubishi didn’t last long as multiple sources are telling us that Schematic NY and LA are experiencing major layoffs (to the tune of 30) this week. If we received one tip, it would be something to brush off but by our count, we received seven tips in a matter of two days from various locales on this.
We’re hearing everything from the New York office is “in its death throes” to its creative department being diminished to Schematic tech in LA being “essentially shut down.” We’ve reached out to one or two contacts to get confirmation and we’ve noticed the Schematic NY Twitter account has been quiet since June 30 (but what does that mean, really?).
We’re hoping to get a yea/nay from the Schematic camp (who have never really been the most forthcoming to begin with) by day’s end. Stay tuned.
