Vitro Wins AOR Duties for Brandman University

Brandman University, “a nonprofit university providing undergraduate, graduate, credential and certificate programs for adults online and at campuses throughout California and Washington,” appointed San Diego-based agency Vitro as its agency of record following a review. 

Vitro will be tasked with handling research, strategy, production, and integrated communications across broadcast, radio, digital, and OOH, media buying and planning and rebuilding Brandman University’s website.

The account was formerly with Siltanen & Partners, who were appointed creative agency of record in April of 2013. The size of the account isn’t clear, nor do we have a list of the agencies that competed for the business.


“With Vitro’s strong capabilities in research and brand development, we’ll be able to elevate Brandman University from other adult education providers and strongly communicate the strength of our programs and consistent success in graduating our students,” Brandman University CMO Roger Lee said in a statement. 

“Given the turbulence, uncertainty and challenging landscape within the tertiary education sector, it’s an honor to be chosen to partner with a not-for-profit institution that is so focused on the things that truly matter – category leading student outcomes like high graduation rates, low default rates and, ultimately, overall student satisfaction,” added Vitro CEO Tom Sullivan.

The appointment follows Vitro being named agency of record for Costa Mesa-based grilled chicken chain El Pollo Loco in October and picking up AOR duties on Adidas Golf back in June. A month before that executive creative directors Kt Thayer and Oliver Duncan left the agency, with Thayer moving on to CP+B Boulder.

Earlier this year, ASICS shifted its global creative business to 180 Amsterdam and 180LA from the agency, Red Robin launched a review and Wild Turkey moved part of its marketing budget overseas. Back in February, the agency launched a new office in Austin, hiring GSD&M’s Jake Camozzi and Victor Camozzi to run its creative department.
