Almost a year after Radio Shack made a play for hipster nation by using Cold Cave’s icy synth-pop tune “Life Magazine” in a holiday ad, Verizon tries the same thing by using the same track in a recent back-to-school-themed spot that’s part of its ongoing “Rule the Air” campaign. Hey, only 9 months late to the game, but we think there are better tracks to use from the band’s Love Comes Close LP.
