Marketing mag reports that IPG has opened a Universal McCann office in Toronto called, you guessed it, Universal McCann Canada.
According to the article, both UM’s Chrysler account win in December and a conflict with fellow Canadian IPG office M2 Universal over its General Motors biz were catalysts for the office launch. Former PHD director of global accounts Peter Mears will serve as president of UM Canada, which besides Chrysler handles other clients including Sony, Microsoft, Labatt and MasterCard.
