The Pop-Up Agency

By SuperSpy

Public relations firm Porter Novelli has popped up an agency. That sounds ridiculous. The agency is staffed by what The New York Times notes is: “younger employees,” as if anyone over the age of 40 is incapable of understanding interactive and social media. That’s the new ageism folks. Don’t believe the hype. Old dogs can learn new tricks.

Anyway, the new shop is called Jack & Bill, after Jack Porter and Bill Novelli. The agency consists of eight Porter Novelli employees with the average age being 26. They oversee five clients that are currently receiving free services.

The kids have publicized their agency on Twitter, Facebook, websites, YouTube, etc. The selected their clients from brands and individuals looking for a PR firm. Watch some of their work for a small clothing brand called Aria above.

I have to say, I love the idea of empowering young people to make their own rules. I like that Porter found a great way to publicize that they are on the cutting edge of digital and that they were fearless enough to give this team $150,000. Maybe a big death star could try it. McCann, Grey, Saatchi? Anyone? I dare you.
