SS+K Gets All Crafty Cathy With Holiday Card

By Bob Marshall

Last year, NYC-based SS+K decided to buck the agency holiday card trend. Instead of doing a tech-y, wacky viral idea, the agency just filmed one of its co-founders, dressed as Santa, passing out presents to local public school children. It was heartwarming and, as one commenter remarked, “refreshing” to see a charitable idea that didn’t include some sort of social media-related “catch.”

This year, the agency is once again choosing to do a decidedly more “traditional” kind of holiday card, opting for construction paper and scissors over HTML5 and Tumblr. Why go digital when you can make a giant outdoor ad for your agency (whose offices overlook the East River)? Again, a simple concept from SS+K “refreshes” us in a time when most agency holiday greetings seem to run together. Nice work, and a separate thumbs up is due to for whoever directed and edited this video.
