We’ve been receiving tips over the past few days alleging that there’s a decline in the relationship between NYC-based indie agency BurnsGroup and Post cereal, the latter of which was acquired by Ralcorp Holdings from Kraft in 2008 but has since been set to spin off into a separate company. Anyhow, spies are telling us that BurnsGroup, which took over Post Foods’ cereal account (Pebbles, Honey Bunches of Oats, Grape Nuts, etc.) last year from Ogilvy, is losing the business.
Not so fast, say sources familiar with the matter. From what we hear, there is a current jostling of Post roster shops (more on that soon, we hope), but as far as we know for now, BurnsGroup, which would not comment on Post business, is still on the list. According to sources, no review has been announced as of yet and BG continues to work with Post. Since today’s a holiday for many, we have been unable to get immediate comment from Post but we’ll get more clarification on this early next week we hope.
