Saulo Rodrigues has boomeranged to R/GA as its global head of design. He returns to the agency where he spent a decade after a year-and-a-half stint at Work & Co, a digital product and service company. In his new role, Rodrigues will help guide the R/GA visual and experience design teams. He will report into global chief creative officer Tiffany Rolfe.

“Since R/GA began, we’ve been at the intersection of design and technology. That convergence has never been more important to the world as we move into Web 3. Saulo will be instrumental in connecting and curating new team structures and designing processes across the globe,” said Rolfe in a statement.

During his previous 10-year tenure at R/GA, Rodrigues held many leadership positions across Latin America. He initially joined R/GA as creative director in 2010 and was promoted to vp, executive creative director in the São Paulo office in 2018. He was instrumental in R/GA projects across Nike, Mastercard, Bradesco, Google and YouTube.

“The more he and I talked about the possibility of him coming back, the more I knew he was the right person to partner with me on this next exciting phase of R/GA,” added Rolfe.

Rodrigues’ work has been recognized by major award shows including Cannes Lions, Clio, AD&D and One Show. Saulo has been part of the design jury at Cannes and Clio and was the design chair jury at El Ojo festivals in Latin America. In 2010 he was recognized as the sixth most awarded designer in the world.

“R/GA is a special place and I am energized to return back to R/GA as global head of design and expand my contributions by partnering with global clients and offices, working closely with Tiffany Rolfe,” said Rodrigues in a statement. “The opportunity to build new thinking and models for clients as well as continue to strengthen the culture of design inside R/GA is really exciting.”
