SapientNitro’s Relationship with Club Med, TracFone Comes to an End

By Kiran Aditham

SapientNitro’s making the news rounds as of late, for better or worse. Following the departure of co-CCO Chris Clarke last week, sources familiar with the matter confirm to us that the agency’s project work for “no contract” wireless service provider TracFone–which began in December 2009–has completed and they are no longer an active SapientNitro client. Still, the agency’s handling some campaign analytics for the brand using Bridgetrack, their proprietary campaign management took.

In addition, following the agency’s decision to retire the Club Med account way back in Q3 2010, which we’ve been told was “amicable,” SapientNitro has now completed work in transitioning the account and wishes the brand “continued success.” But one spy and apparent ex-Sapient employee, though, says it’s not all peachy on the homefront, telling us, “They are staying quiet about [Club Med and TracFone as] not to scare their people… but I was laid off as well as others.” We’re checking in to see what the actual numbers are if true.
