Firewood, the digital marketing and creative agency which was acquired by Martin Sorrell‘s S4 Capital last October after ranking 42nd on Adweek’s inaugural Fastest Growing Agencies list, has named its first chief technology officer.

The agency promoted Ron Davis to the new role and a place on its leadership team, tasked with continuing to expand the agency’s technology practice. Davis joined Firewood in 2018 as svp, technology.

In recent years Firewood’s technology practice has tripled in size and grew across multiple offices, spanning capabilities such as website development, mobile and custom app development, and automation. It has played an essential role in work for clients, including Facebook, Google and LinkedIn.

“Technology is at the heart of everything we do at Firewood,” Davis said in a statement. “The technology team not only develops insight-driven applications, websites, and other tools for our clients, but we also leverage the same approach to enable internal efficiencies that save money for clients. And our technology services now augment all of our other offerings, including creative and strategy.”

“Ron and his entire team have created powerful capabilities to help us deliver marketing solutions with speed, quality and value,” added Firewood CEO Juan Zambrano. “We’re excited to see our tech capabilities grow to an even more robust level under Ron’s leadership in this important area.”

Prior to joining Firewood, Davis spent over a year and a half as svp, technology at Guidance Solutions. Before that, he spent around a year as vp, technology at Razorfish, following two years in the same role at Edelman.
