San Francisco-based agency Character hired Chris Bruyere as managing director of its new Portland, Oregon office.

Bruyere joins Character from Reebok, where he has spent the past six years as senior director of global brand creative and led brand creative strategy and campaign development on Reebok’s “Be More Human” campaign with VB+P. Before going client side he spent 4 years as an account director with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, where he worked on Hyundai. That followed four years in the same role with Wongdoody, after six years as an account executive with Dailey and nearly a year with Deutsch L.A. as an account supervisor.

“I’m beyond excited to get back to the agency side, because in this particular case with Character, I’m eager to help more brands “get it right”; to help more brands recognize who they are and what potential they have; to help more brands be liberated with clarity and confidence allowing them to move faster and be more emboldened,” Bruyere said in a statement. “That’s what Character does already, and that’s what I love to do most.”
