Ogilvy Toronto has a new executive creative director.

Meg Farquhar has joined the shop from Leo Burnett Chicago, where she served as svp and creative director, working on clients including Aldi and Kellogg’s. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, she will be working remotely in Chicago until she can move to Toronto.

Her appointment follows the departure of Brian Murphy, who left Ogilvy last year. He served as chief creative officer of Ogilvy Canada.

Earlier in her career, Farquhar held creative roles at agencies including David São Paulo, Energy BBDO, Mekanism and Ogilvy Brazil. According to Ogilvy, her work has won accolades at Cannes and D&AD.

“We are so thrilled to have Meg joining our team in Canada at a time when creativity has never been more important to how we help lead our clients’ businesses into the future,” John Killam, CEO of Ogilvy Canada, said in a statement. “Meg’s experience managing the creative process across mediums, teams, and partners is what has driven results and recognition for her clients in the past – and we’re looking forward to putting that collaborative mindset to work in Canada.”

According to Ogilvy Canada, which has an office in Montreal in addition to Toronto, it’s recently created campaigns for clients such as Dove and Hellmann’s. The agency also said it recently picked up business from six Canadian clients.
