In addition to his role as CEO of Ogilvy Asia Pacific, Paul Heath will take on the worldwide director post at the WPP agency. Heath has spent the last seven years entrenched in Hong Kong running the regional Ogilvy business and will remain there in his new position.
According to Media Asia, Heath will assemble a global executive committee consisting of the regional heads of Advertising including David Mayo, president of O&M Asia-Pacific, Hugh Baillie, chief executive of Ogilvy Advertising UK, Simon Pearce, managing director of Ogilvy New York and Fernando Musa, advertiser supervisor of Ogilvy Brazil.
In a statement, Ogilvy Group CEO Miles Young credits Heath for reinvigorating Ogilvy in the Asia-Pacific region and adds that, “Advertising will take on a more formalized approach that links the Advertising heads in each region together to drive our business development agenda and give momentum to our largest discipline, a shift that has benefited the unit significantly in Asia.”
