NBC Wins Right to Whore Out ‘Runway’

By Matt Van Hoven

NBC Universal’s recent win over the Weinstein company on the matter of Bravo’s “Project Runway” may land the show in the prime time, according to a source close to the issue. But finding a space for ‘PR’ in the already tightly packed NBC line-up may not be easy, and would be seemingly out of place.

And nothing’s permanent yet. Weinstein, which apparently got hold of the show by threatening to air personal secrets about NBC President and CEO Jeff Zucker (as well as other high-up NBC and GE folks), could have avoided the court matter by simply waiting for NBC to take a look at the deal.

Bottom-line, the show has to be re-branded for whichever network it’s headed for. And to coincide, ad dollars will likely be reshuffled, too. We’re eager to hear how NBC plans to align ‘PR’ in coming weeks, as the next season is just a breath away (in entertainment years).
