My/Mochi Names Terri & Sandy Lead Creative Agency

By Kyle O'Brien

My/Mochi, the largest producer of mochi ice cream, has named independent agency Terri & Sandy as its lead creative and strategic agency.

The Los Angeles-based frozen snack brand originally launched in the 1990s, and in 2017 began its push of mochi ice cream under CEO Craig Berger. Earlier this year My/Mochi brought on veteran Mondelēz executive Brigette Wolf as chief marketing officer, who looks to expand beyond ice cream into other mochi-based snacks.

Wolf says bringing that vision to fruition requires a re-boot of marketing and branding, so she thought it was time to bring in an agency with proven creative muscle, in particular in the CPG space.

“Terri & Sandy checks all of the boxes and more on what it takes to establish My/Mochi as an even larger player in frozen snacks and grow with us in our expansion into new products and platforms,” says Wolf in a statement. “I love that the agency is founded by two impressive women, as well as the energy of the team and passion they have for food. Their award-winning work speaks for itself and we are thrilled they are on this journey with us.”

The agency’s initial assignment will be a refresh of all digital and social content to drive sales, awareness and engagement and work alongside My/Mochi’s agency partners on building out and executing a fully integrated marketing campaign.

“The [My/Mochi] team chose Terri & Sandy, without a pitch, thanks to our rich history of driving growth across the food and CPG categories. We look forward to partnering with them to help expand the My/Mochi brand into other exciting product categories,” said Sandy Greenberg, co-founder, Terri & Sandy in a statement, adding that the agency has worked with Wolf previously on the Oreo brand.

Terri & Sandy, based in New York, will work with New York-based 26DotTwo, which handles My/Mochi’s media account, along with its public relations lead, Food Future Strategies, Inc. The brand also engaged Fortnight Collective earlier this year for a brand voice assignment which resulted in the new platform, “Joyfully Chill.”

My/Mochi has already started the year with new Mixed Berry and Strawberry Banana Functional Smoothies and additional ice cream flavors. My/Mochi has more than 20 flavors.

Terri & Sandy has been on a win streak lately, winning contracts for Nature’s Bounty and John B. Sanfilippo & Son over the last year.
