By Erik Oster

Creative studio MPC L.A. announced the addition of three senior hires: head of business development David Hoogenakker, head of production Jeff Werner and executive producer Meghan Lang; as well as the promotion of Mike Wigart to executive producer of MPC Creative. MPC L.A. also announced an impending move from Santa Monica to Culver City early next year.

Hoogenakker joins MPC from TBWA/Chiat/Day L.A., where he has served as a senior producer for the past twelve years. He arrives with over 25 years of industry experience, including as the owner of Hoogenakker Production Services and as a producer with Saatchi & Saatchi. Over the course of his career, he has worked with clients including Nissan, Infiniti, Gatorade and Pepsi.

Werner arrives from Method, where he has served as digital studio manager since November of 2010. Before joining Method, he spent nearly 13 years as head of 3D for Asylum Visual Effects.

As executive producer, Lang will focus on MPC L.A.’s color division. She arrives from Furlined, where she spent the past two and a half years in an executive producer position. Before joining Furlined she was a partner/principal at brand and talent management firm Stable 7/Scout, where she took on a variety of business development, strategic sales, brand management and development and talent representation roles. She has also spent time with Radium and Brand New School in business development roles.

Wigart makes the leap from deputy head of production for MPC L.A. to executive producer of MPC Creative. In the new role, he will focus on original content, live action, motion graphics and VR.

MPC L.A.’s new Culver City location is a former bookbinding factory near the Metro Expo line. The open plan space will be remodeled by architect Bruce Bolander and will house all of MPC’s advertising activities and an expanded film pre-production team.
