Motel 6 Leaves the Light On for Touring Bands

Touring bands feeling the budget crunch can take a little comfort knowing that they might have a somewhat better place to crash than makeshift bus beds or the cold, hard floor of their rented vans.

Highway exit staple Motel 6 is teaming up with music publishing house Primary Wave to provide a little B-grade hospitality with its “Rock Yourself to Sleep” campaign, which has the chain offering six weeks of free lodging to bands on the road. Among the first acts to participate and reap the rewards are some you’ve probably never even heard of including Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers, Hit The Lights and Sparks The Rescue.

Nevertheless, the deal must sound awfully sweet to these under-the-radar artists who don’t quite have enough scratch to book a room at the Ritz-Carlton, the Setai or the Chateau Marmont just yet.
