Monday Stir

-Wouldn’t it be nice to get away? The folks at agency Lanfranco Cordova—who went to Peru to find a shaman to bless this year’s One Show—are touting tourism in an awfully remote part in the northern part of the South American country. It’s called Urum, 900 hectares (that’s over 2,000 acres) of biodiversity that promises “an inimitable experience free from the constraints of time.”

The film from the agency is some beautiful work. It doesn’t exactly tell you what you’re going to get with this experience—and the website doesn’t help with it essentially being only a “contact us” form. But, it’s perfectly fine to dream a little and find yourself communing with nature away from the hustle, bustle and … America.

-Purpose-led agency Oberland has hired Allie Dietzek as its first head of growth. Dietzek is a biz dev monster, having served in similar roles at Co:Collective and Translation.

“Purpose is a tool, a filter, and a map that enables a brand to move at the speed of culture,” said Dietzek. “As head of growth, I will help Oberland find and create the next class of purpose-driven brands to be our partners in moving the world forward. In some cases that will mean helping brands deploy their purpose in new and innovative ways. In other cases it will mean helping brands uncover or even define what their purpose is. In any case, when brands make purpose a core business tool, it translates to social impact, cultural impact, and tangible business impact.”

Dietzek is also the founder of a lifestyle brand and platform Reign Wala that finds and supports artisans in developing countries.

I will create the German sister of their operation here in Hamburg. We will stand for
something new, a slim organization with easy access and big actions, just as in
Stockholm.”
