-In Leo Burnett Chicago’s latest for Samsung, a sad dad helps his sick tween daughter experience her favorite boy band with the help of the S7 Edge, the Gear 360 camera and the Gear VR headset.

-Havas, Horizon Media and Heartbeat Ideas waged a sort-of war with post-it notes, recording the whole thing on social media under the #postitwars and #canalnotes tags.

-Digiday reports that certain agencies have started “eating the costs” of the VR capabilities they’re sure their clients will eventually grow to love.

William Yu of Sapient.Nitro took to Twitter today to clarify that viral hit #StarringJohnCho was not the agency’s work. (For the record, Sapient never really claimed that it was. But people understandably got confused.)

-Full service digital agency RAIN expanded its production department with the hires of senior digital producer Neal Chamberlain and digital producer Meg Kimball, both of whom will work in its Utah office.

-You know George Lois, right? He probably doesn’t like you either, but he just launched a new agency called Lois Transmedia, Big Idea Advertising and Public Relations.

-Nonprofit Be The Match, which “manages the world’s largest and most diverse marrow donor registry,” picked space150 as its new agency of record.

-Audio post company Eleven rehired mixer/sound designer Mike Franklin, who started his career there.

-Stink Group hired Fran McGivern (formerly with B-Reel) as an executive producer in its L.A. office.
