McCann New York Bolsters Creative, Production Departments

McCann New York strengthened its creative and production departments with a series of new hires. Joining the agency’s creative department are senior vice presidents, group creative directors Peter Powell and Gene Campanelli, as well as executive vice president, executive account director Scot Beck. Executive producer Dana May and senior vice president, executive integrated producer Christine Lane, meanwhile, round out the production department.

Powell and Campanelli will be tasked with creative leadership across the agency’s Verizon’s B2B products and services account, including SMB Wireless, Fios and the Verizon Enterprise Solutions organization. The pair joins the agency from Leo Burnett Business, the agency’s B2B wing which Powell has helped lead since 1999 as vice president, creative director, working with clients such as Avis, GE and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Campanelli joined Powell at what was then called Masius in 2002, following eleven years as an associate creative director with Clarion Marketing and Communications.

Beck joins the agency from CP+B Miami, where he has served as vice president, group account director since May of 2008. While with CP+B he led work for brands including Best Buy, VW and Arby’s and also led the planning and opening of the agency’s satellite office in New York. Before joining CP+B, he spent nearly six and a half years with Ogilvy & Mather New York as a senior partner, group account director and led digital marketing and strategic brand advertising across the agency’s global IBM account. Prior to that he served as senior vice president, director of interactive at Hill Holiday for just over two years.

May joins the agency from CHI&Partners, where she served as head of production and worked with clients including The Wall Street Journal, Diageo, Samsung and InterContinental Hotels Group. She previously served as senior producer at Droga5, working on the agency’s PUMA, Activision and Unilever businesses. At McCann, May will focus on overseeing the Verizon Wireless account.

Lane, meanwhile, will be responsible for overseeing all interactive, experiential, architectural and digital projects. She joins the agency from strategy and design agency Sub Rosa, where she has served as an executive producer since May of 2014. Prior to that, she spent around five and a half years at The Supertouch Group, a collective of engineers, programmers and designers, serving as a managing director.
