Managing Director Leaving StrawberryFrog

By Patrick Coffee

Chris Perkins, who joined Scott Goodson’s Manhattan shop last year as “Managing Director of cultural movement agency StrawberryFrog,” is leaving his position after approximately 10 months on the job. We hear that today is his last day.

Perkins joined the agency in December, and two months later he told MediaPost that the ‘frog would be “rebooting” itself in the interest of fomenting a revolution of sorts. From that interview:

“You develop the creative brief, work against it for six months, and doing round after round of work. At StrawberryFrog we have a better way to do it, a new way of looking at it. We look in society, into insights that strike a nerve, that are highly relevant, that are passions…Then we connect these powerful forces to the brand benefit, purpose, and value set — and BANG.”

The shop’s new website, launched around the same time, reflects that change, leading with “Welcome to the Cultural Movement Agency.”

Perkins replaced Goodson himself, who handled MD duties in addition to his concurrent roles as CEO and founder. Regarding the news, Goodson tells us:

“He’s been recruited for a really big job. He’s a class act. We wish him well.”

Goodson has not yet elaborated on whether he’s seeking a replacement or what that big job is, exactly. Before joining SF, Perkins spent 10 months as RAPP’s CMO, and he held similar positions at Arnold, Ogilvy, Publicis/Hal Riney and Bozell, among others. He’s also done a lot of consulting work–some of which involved agencies like CP+B and Havas New York.

Updates to come, then.

In the meantime, StrawberryFrog will continue moving along its new path.
