This morning, JWT announced two big promotions within its New York office: Lynn Power will be president of JWT New York and Claire Capeci will fill the newly-created role of global president, retail within the larger JWT organization.

Power’s ascent has been particularly swift: she announced her resignation as president of Arnold New York in June 2013 after eight years on the job and joined JWT as a managing director in April of last year after working as a consultant and helping to found a business service company called Powered Office. Prior to joining Arnold in 2005, Power held various positions in the account departments of Ogilvy, Grey, BBDO, and McCann Erickson.

Power’s promotion follows the October announcement that 360i CCO Adam Kerj would eventually replace Jeff Benjamin as the leader of JWT’s creative team. Kerj will formally assume that position this month, and worldwide CEO Gustavo Martinez implies that the two will work closely together, calling them “the kind of leaders who will foster a creative, curious and collaborative culture, drive growth and further enhance our creative reputation.”

Capeci, who joined JWT in 2006 after a stint as EVP/MD at Lowe Worldwide, worked closely with Power over the past ten months while serving as co-managing director. She will continue to handle the Macy’s and Energizer accounts while also leading “a specialized retail discipline” created to win more business in that sector.

As previously noted, Kerj and his team will report to worldwide CCO Matt Eastwood.
