In the role, Stewart will be tasked with leading all brand partnerships and the agency’s account team out of its New York headquarters and report to CEO Lisa Clunie.
“We’ve been fortunate to have great success in our first 1 ½ years since Joan opened its doors, and Karla joins us at a key time in our development as an agency” Clunie said in a statement. “Her global account and operations leadership experience combined with her belief in the outrageous power of excellent creative ideas, will be a huge asset to Joan as we create the next chapter in our history. She is a true ‘Joan’ at heart, and we’re thrilled to have her on board.”
Stewart arrives at Joan from 72andSunny, where she has served as group brand director for the past two and a half years, where she trained the agency’s account managers and worked with its global leadership team while also running its Diageo and Unilever accounts. She originally joined 72andSunny as a brand director in November of 2014, following stints as an account director with W+K New York and GS&P New York. Prior to joining W+K New York in December of 2010, she spent over a year and a half as an account director with W+K London, where she worked on Nike and Nokia.
