Irish Whiskey Makes NYC’s Music Community Go Round

By Kiran Aditham

Despite the melting pot, the multitude of neighborhoods and the musical styles that spring forth, NYC still has that innate ability to bring like-minded artists together. Irish whiskey Bushmills has in turn decided to take a closer look at established New York artists and their social/music circles in a new series of shorts that will begin showing next week on the brand’s Facebook page.

For now, we have the above teaser which includes the stars of the show such as electro-funk duo Chromeo (whose “Night by Night” provides the score here), members of hipster-adored label/production team DFA and scratching whiz DJ A-Trak. According to the release, the campaign “stems from Bushmills’ general, straightforward marketing initiative to serve as an outlet to express the important people in our lives through a warm Irish whiskey.” And from the looks of it, plenty of Bushmills was passed around as the artists enjoy time chit-chatting at the bar and doing photo shoots while discussing their Big Apple bond.

After the jump, check out some of the drawings the music acts made of each other on napkins, which were put to good use it seems during all that time spent at the bar.
