IPG’s HackerAgency Appoints Julie Rezek as North American President

IPG global digital/direct marketing agency HackerAgency has appointed Julie Rezek as North American president, effective as of June.

In the new role, Rezek will be tasked with growing the agency’s North American footprint while working closely with the management team and reporting to HackerAgency CEO Spyro Kourtis. She will also be taking on some responsibilities formerly held by HackerAgency executive vice president and general manager Matt Witter, who is leaving the agency after 15 years to explore other opportunities. Kourtis pointed to Rezek’s “leadership skills, digital and global expertise and strong emphasis on building a nurturing workplace culture” as reasons she was selected for the position.

Rezek arrives at HackerAgency from Wunderman Seattle, where she has served as president for the past three years and Microsoft global client since August 2015. She originally joined Wunderman Canada as director of eMarketing in June of 1999. Six years later she made the move to Wunderman Seattle as vp/account director focusing on the agency’s Microsoft business. Nearly seven years later, she was named general manager of the Seattle office, before being promoted to president the following year. She has also served on the board of trustees for Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington since July of 2014.

“We’re excited that Julie is joining us. She is a terrific business partner and leader for the next stage of growth at HackerAgency,” said Kourtis. “Her experience managing Microsoft is a perfect complement for our growing global and digital practice and we are confident her expertise in developing marketing strategies and driving sales and growth will benefit both current and future clients.”

“I’m looking forward to taking the already excellent, results-driven CRM work currently done by HackerAgency to the next level,” Rezek added. “With best-in-class client partners like Uber, AT&T, Hyatt and Cricket, there is tremendous potential to do more, and I’m excited to partner with Spyro and the HackerAgency team to help drive the company’s growth and innovation story.”
