I’d Like a Large Pie with Pepperoni, Mushrooms and a TSA Advert

By Michael Musco

The well-liked Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is looking fill quite a few airport screener slots. How did they go about this, you ask? They didn’t put an ad out on Craigslist, nor internet nor newspaper. They chose instead to advertise on pizza boxes.

“A Career Where X-Ray Vision and Federal Benefits Come Standard” and “See yourself in a vital role for Homeland Security” are some of the lines appearing on pizza boxes across the D.C area. According to the Washington Post, there’s no word on the cost of the campaign or which restaurants are using the boxes, but hey, the TSA has been getting a lot of crap lately. They’ve been hit with everything, whether it’s a woman reporting she was singled out because of her breasts or the speedo protester (for a few more graphic horror stories regarding alleged excessive groping by TSA screeners, click here). At least we’re trying to keep it positive on the busiest travel day of the year.
