Havas Went Through a Small Round of Layoffs Across North America

By Erik Oster

Havas has undergone a small round of layoffs across its offices in North America recently, which a Havas spokesperson characterized as part of a restructuring to meet changing industry dynamics and evolving client needs.

“As part of the continuous evolution of our company, a few Creative roles across Havas North America have been eliminated,” the spokesperson said in a statement, but declined to provide specific details on the number of employees impacted.

The layoffs come in the wake of leadership and structural changes at Havas, including today’s announcement that Havas Chicago hired Lilia Arroyo Flores as chief strategy officer and Maisha Pearson as chief client officer, as well as the recent hire of Dan Lucey as Havas New York CCO. In September, Havas Creative North America hired Claire Telling as its first chief people officer and the network launched customer experience network Havas CX the following month. Earlier this year, Havas Creative North America CEO Paul Marobella left after eight years with the organization. Havas global chief client officer Stephanie Nerlich succeeded him as Havas Creative North America CEO.

The move also follows an earlier round of layoffs across the U.S. Havas network in July due to the business impact of the pandemic, which impacted around 150 employees across Arnold, Havas Media and other offices in New York, Boston and Chicago.
