Group Creative Director Justin Ebert Leaves Droga5

By Patrick Coffee

Group creative director Justin Ebert has left Droga5 New York after just under a year.

Droga officially brought him on him last September as part of a mini-hiring spree that included three GCDs and three group account directors. During his tenure he worked on the Motorola and NRG accounts.

Prior to joining Droga5, he’d been freelancing in New York after a three-plus year stint as CD/ECD at Saatchi & Saatchi; you’ll find him listed on Cheerios and Keystone posts, and he also contributed to campaigns for Capri Sun, Duracell and others. He started his career as a copywriter at Doner and what’s now RTO+P before moving to Arnold and CP+B, where he worked on Hulu and Best Buy.

Ebert was also included in Business Insider’s 2012 listicle “37 Creatives Most Lusted After By Rival Agencies,” which just provided us with both a headache and a weird nostalgia trip to a time before we ran this here web site. Does BI still publish these, or what?

According to Ebert’s Cargo page, he’s been freelancing at BBDO, 72andSunny and other shops since leaving Droga within the past month.

We reached out to Ebert this morning but didn’t hear back. He’s been a freelancer in the past so he obviously doesn’t need any tips on living the FL lifestyle, but he might want to check in with our under-dressed friend Lawson Clarke just in case.

Droga5 didn’t comment on his departure.
