-AMV BBDO launched its first major broadcast spot for supermarket chain Asda with “Bringing Christmas Home” (video above). We’re still not ready for the holiday stuff and it’s currently over 60 degrees out but it is November, so okay, whatever.

-McCann’s Chevrolet-dedicated agency, Commonwealth//McCann, hired Todd Riddle as CCO, global markets.

-Cannes is adding two new categories for 2019, dropping product design.


-Accenture interactive acquired Hamburg-based creative agency Kolle Rebbe.

-As a reminder that ad agencies aren’t the only companies being disrupted, NBC is going to lay off 50 people in its ad division and CBS is struggling to find a new CEO as ratings slip.

-Police arrested 24-year-old upstairs neighbor Anya Johnston for the murder of veteran copywriter Susan Trott.

-SodaStream is in the midst of a U.S. creative review.
