With only $2.5 million to spend on a campaign informing tourists that the Gulf oil spill has not affected the Florida panhandle, the “quasi-public tourism group Visit Florida and Governor Charlie Crist asked BP to pony up the difference, $34.75 million. According to TampaBay.com, BP has already given the state $25 million “to help cover the state’s initial costs for responding to the spill.”
