Confectionary company Ferrara Candy Co. appointed San Francisco independent agency Duncan Channon as creative agency of record for its Black Forest brand, following a review.
Duncan Channon will be responsible for strategy and creative for the Black Forest brand, best known for its line of gummy bears, including a new integrated campaign launching in the summer of 2020. The agency’s first work will be to create a TV spot supporting a cause-based promotional campaign from Black Forest.
“It was clear throughout the pitch that Duncan Channon put Black Forest in their heart. Their insightful creative ideas and passion to help build Black Forest into the next great Ferrara brand stood out and matched our ambition,” Black Forest & Fruit Snacks marketing director Kate Adams said in a statement. “We’re excited to have such a collaborative partner to continue making Black Forest both beloved and well-known.”
Duncan Channon already worked with fellow Ferrara Candy Co. brand Sweet Tarts, including last year’s “Be Both” campaign.
“We’ve loved working with the Ferrara team on Sweet Tarts for the last year and jumped at the opportunity to pitch for the Black Forest business. I mean, who doesn’t love a delicious gummy bear that’s actually made with real fruit juice?” Duncan Channon executive creative director John Kovacevich said in a statement. “We can’t wait to launch the new brand campaign later this year and bring this tasty treat to the attention of an even wider audience.”
Black Forest previously worked with New York independent agency Joan. Joan crafted a campaign for the brand around a surreal gummy bear forest.
