e5 Global Media LLC’s the Proud Parent of Eight Nielsen Brands

e5 Global Media LLC announced that it’s signed a definitive agreement to acquire eight brands from Nielsen including Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek and The Clio Awards.

The brainchild of Chicago/NYC-based financial services firm Guggenheim Partners and media private equity partnership Pluribus Capital Management, e5 Global Media will also acquire the Film Expo business–which includes the ShoWest, ShowEast, Cinema Expo International and CineAsia trade shows–from Nielsen.

The parties hope to close the transaction by December 31, 2009, and once it’s so, the newly acquired pubs will remain in their New York City and Los Angeles locations. In a related story, Nielsen folded Editor & Publisher as well as Kirkus Reviews.
