Droid to Invade Shelves Next Week

TechCrunch has all the deets on Verizon’s anticipated Moto Droid that’s caused a little back and forth in the ad realm in recent days.

The phone will be out on November 6th and costs $199 (with a 2-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate attached) plus $70 a month minimum in combined voice, email and web plans. Some of the features include an “all in cinema-style” 3.7″ hi-res screen, 5 megapixel cam, Google Maps navigation, the ability to run multiple apps at once and access to App Store rival the Android Market. Of course, Motorola isn’t alone in the Android-powered market, as HTC is rumored to be working on Android 2.0 devices that could have names like Desire, Devour and Dragon.
